Hilux tuning in Brisbane — N70 and N80 diesel performance
1GD-FTV and 1KD-FTV Hilux tuning, plus the clutch and exhaust work that keeps a tuned ute reliable.
The Hilux is the most common ute through our workshop, and the two generations behave differently. The N80's 2.8L 1GD responds well to a well-written map but leans on its clutch once torque climbs. The N70's 3.0L 1KD is a tougher engine with an aging fuel system — injectors and boost control are the first things we check.
Whichever you own, the tune is written for your vehicle and hardware, then road tested before you get it back.

N70 Hilux tuning (2005–2015, 1KD)
1KD tuning with a fuel-system check first — injectors, boost and intercooling. Dump pipes and full exhaust systems are available for the 1KD, along with 350 and 500 series clutch kits.

Frequently asked questions
Can you tune a 1GD N80 Hilux?
Yes — the 2.8L 1GD is one of our most common tunes, usually set up for towing torque and smoother gear selection.
What about the older 1KD N70?
We tune the 1KD too, but we check injectors and boost control first. Tuning over a tired fuel system just makes smoke.
Will my Hilux need a clutch after tuning?
Manual Hiluxes with high kilometres or towing duty often do. We inspect it beforehand and quote a heavy-duty kit if it won't hold.
Do you fit exhausts and tune in the same visit?
Yes, and it's the sensible order — hardware on, then the map written to suit it.
